THE BATECS METHOD
How we work: one team, one person responsible, one fixed price
A renovation goes well when someone is accountable for it from start to finish. That is why at Batecs we don’t split your project between loose, come-and-go trades: we carry it out with our own in-house team and a single site manager who coordinates everything and keeps you informed. Before we begin, we sign a fixed written quote with every item itemised, so you know exactly what will be done, when, and for how much.
We are not a catalogue company; we are a company of craftsmen. The people who design the project are the people who build it, so every design decision reaches the site already aware of its cost, its timeline and its technical feasibility. This is what we call the Batecs Method, and it comes down to six phases that we walk through with you, step by step.
THE 6 PHASES
The process, phase by phase
Each phase has a clear goal and a clear close: we don’t move on to the next one until the previous one is resolved and signed off with you. That is how we avoid surprises, stoppages and improvised decisions halfway through the works.
Visit and listen
We come to your home with no obligation, assess the condition of the property, take measurements and, above all, listen to what you want to achieve. This technical visit is the foundation of everything that follows.
Design and proposal
We define the layout, finishes and interior design, and present the proposal for you to approve before we start. Concept, plans, material palette and lighting: everything on the table, clear and upfront.
Fixed written quote
After the technical visit we deliver a fixed written quote, itemised line by line. No small print and no surprises on the invoice: what you sign is what you pay.
Scheduling the timeline
We coordinate materials and trades well in advance and set a realistic schedule. Planning before we start is exactly what allows us to commit to deadlines and meet them.
Coordinated execution
We carry out the works ourselves, with our own in-house team: builders, plumbers, electricians, tilers and carpenters. A single site manager coordinates every trade and keeps you informed throughout the whole project.
Quality control and handover
We check the finishing details, the joints and how the installations work, and hand your home back to you clean and complete. Because we are an in-house team, any later adjustment is something we resolve ourselves.
THE DIFFERENCE
An in-house team versus juggling loose trades
Most renovation problems don’t come from the craftsmanship itself, but from the coordination. When each trade works on its own, the gaps between one and the next turn into stoppages, delays and arguments about who is responsible for what.
In that model, you end up acting as site manager without ever asking to: chasing the plumber to finish before the tiler arrives, refereeing when one blames the other for a mismatch, and discovering that nobody is accountable for the whole. The budget shifts, the timeline stretches, and the final quality depends on how lucky you get with each subcontractor.
The Batecs Method flips that logic. We carry out the works with our own staff and coordinate our trusted trades from the inside, not through outside firms. You have a single site manager to turn to for everything, someone who knows the project in detail because they have been there since the very first visit. We are accountable for every finish and for the project as a whole, not for one isolated line item. And because the people who design it are the people who build it, what is drawn is what gets built, with its cost and its timeline already committed.
It is the difference between simply being handed a finished job and having someone genuinely direct it. If you’d like to see how this translates into real projects, get to know us on about us or see how we apply it in full home renovations and interior design.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What you ask us most about the method
How long does a renovation take with the Batecs Method?
It depends on the scope of the project. We set the timeline before we start: we coordinate materials and trades in advance and establish a realistic schedule, because planning well is precisely what lets us commit to dates and meet them.
Does a fixed quote mean the price won’t change?
The quote you sign is fixed and itemised line by line, delivered in writing after the technical visit. The aim is for there to be no surprises on the invoice: you know what will be done and what it costs before we begin. If you decide to add or change something during the works, we price it and agree it with you in advance, also in writing, so that control over the cost stays in your hands at all times.
Who runs my project and who do I talk to?
You have a single site manager as your point of contact from start to finish. This is the person who has been there since the first visit, knows the project in detail and coordinates every trade in our in-house team. You won’t have to chase several subcontractors or referee between trades: there is one person who is accountable for everything.
What guarantee do I have on the renovation?
We are accountable for the work carried out and for the materials in line with current regulations. And because we do the work with our own team rather than subcontracting it, any later adjustment is something we resolve ourselves, without you having to chase third parties or work out who was responsible for each part.
