Interior design in Valencia: design that actually gets built

We design your home from top to bottom — layout, style, materials, lighting and furniture — and turn it into reality with our own in-house team. The people who design are the people who build, so the render never stays just a pretty picture. Interior design across Valencia, La Eliana and the whole Camp de Túria.

1Team that designs and builds

Interior design isn’t about picking a couple of colours or arranging the furniture nicely. It’s about deciding how you’ll actually live in every square metre of a home: where the light comes in, where you’ll want to sit, how you move from one room to the next, which materials stand up to daily life and which only look good in a photo. At Batecs we have spent more than 35 years designing and renovating homes in Valencia, La Eliana and the Camp de Túria, and we have seen the same mistake again and again: an interior design project that looks stunning on paper but, once it reaches site, turns out impossible or wildly expensive to build.

That’s the problem we solve. Most design projects end up as a PDF full of spectacular renders that someone else then has to build — and it almost never comes out like the image. We work the other way round: the person who draws the project is the person who builds it. Every design decision is made knowing what it costs, how long it takes and whether the installation will allow it. That way the finished result genuinely matches what we show you.

Whether you want a full interior design project for a home you’re about to renovate completely, or you simply want to bring coherence and character to the home you already have, this is the service that pulls it all together: concept, layout, style, materials, lighting, furniture and build, with a single point of contact. And if the work spans the whole house, take a look at our full home renovations too.

01 What interior design is

What an interior design project includes

An interior design project goes far beyond decoration: it defines how the home is lived in and how it is built, room by room.

Concept and style of an interior design project in Valencia

Concept and style

We set a guiding thread — the style, the palette and the atmosphere — so the whole home speaks the same language, rather than being a collection of unrelated rooms.

Layout and floor plans in an interior design project in Valencia

Layout and floor plans

We reorganise the space to gain light, openness and function, with layout plans, elevations and made-to-measure storage solutions.

Materials and palettes in an interior design project in Valencia

Materials and palettes

We choose flooring, wall finishes, woods, stones and textiles that work well together and stand up to your real use — not just the catalogue photo.

Layered lighting design for interior design in Valencia

Lighting

We design light in layers — general, task and ambient — because good lighting completely changes how each room is perceived and lived in.

Bespoke furniture in an interior design project in Valencia

Furniture and bespoke pieces

We select the furniture and design the made-to-measure pieces that make the most of every corner: wardrobes, bookcases, benches and pantry solutions.

3D render and build of an interior design project in Valencia

3D render and build

You’ll see the project in 3D before we start and, if you wish, we build it ourselves — so the finished result genuinely matches the image.

Just looking to repaint and freshen up the finishes, without a full design project? For that we offer painting and interior styling. And if the work covers the whole home, see our full home renovations or kitchen renovations.

02 The advantage

Design and renovation with a single team: the people who design are the people who build

Most interior design studios hand over a project and walk away; then you’re left to find a renovation company to build it yourself. That’s where the trouble starts: the render used a material that’s been discontinued, the island won’t fit with those walkways, the budget spirals, and nobody owns the gap between what was drawn and what was built.

At Batecs we design and build with the same team. Every design decision is made knowing what it costs, how long it takes and whether the installation allows it. There’s no «studio» on one side and a «building site» on the other passing the blame: there is one single person responsible for both the project and the build. The result is realistic interior design, with the budget under control and a finish that’s faithful to the design.

If you already have your own interior designer or architect, we’ll happily coordinate with them and handle just the build, as part of our renovation services. You choose the scope.

By style

Interior design styles: how to find yours

There’s no style that’s better than the rest: there’s one that fits your home, the Valencian light and the way you live. These are the ones we’re asked for most, and what each one is good for. In practice, almost every project blends two or three of them with a careful eye.

Mediterranean

The most natural choice in our region: warm tones, wood and stone, lime finishes, natural fibres and plenty of light. It works especially well in villas and homes with outdoor space, where we aim for that continuity between inside and out. It’s timeless and ages beautifully. You can see it in our villa projects.

Scandinavian

Pale woods, whites, simple lines and warmth. It brings brightness and a sense of space, so it’s a winner in flats with little light or tight square footage. Cosy without ever feeling cluttered.

Minimalist and contemporary

Less is more: clean lines, handleless cabinetry, hidden storage and a restrained palette. It demands order and good installations, because everything is on show. Ideal for anyone who wants a calm, easy-to-maintain home.

Japandi

The meeting point of Scandinavian and Japanese: warmth, natural materials and real restraint. Uncluttered spaces, soft palettes and pieces chosen with intent. It’s the trend that best balances comfort with quiet elegance.

Warm contemporary

Current but welcoming: neutral bases with touches of wood, textiles and the odd noble material. The most versatile style, and the one that adapts best to almost any home in Valencia.

04 Design + build

Design and interior styling built into your renovation

When the interior design is thought through at the same time as the renovation, everything fits together better. The design project and the building project are one and the same, so the services, the lighting and the furniture are conceived from the start with the final result in mind. There’s no need to «adapt» a render to what the build allows: the build is planned so the render is possible.

This avoids the most typical extra cost in the trade — redoing things because design and build weren’t speaking the same language — and gives you a single point of contact for everything. You make the important decisions; we make sure the whole thing is delivered turnkey, coherent and true to the design. You’ll see it in our gallery of projects.

05 Fees

How much an interior design project costs in Valencia

No two projects are the same, but market ranges help you get your bearings. These are indicative: we define the real scope with you after the first meeting.

OptionIndicative feesWhat it usually includes
One-off consultation≈ rate per sessionAn advisory meeting on style, colour palette, materials and layout, without a full project. Ideal for a single room or a specific question.
Interior design project≈ €30-70 /m²Concept, layout, plans, material palette, lighting design, 3D render and furniture selection, depending on scope and level of detail.
Interior design + renovation (turnkey)Built into the worksThe design is built into the renovation budget. We design and build with the same team; decoration and furniture are quoted separately.

Indicative market fees in Valencia for 2026, for reference only. They are not a quote or an offer. As a hypothetical example, the interior design project for a 90 m² home might fall somewhere around €2,700-6,300 in design fees; the real cost depends on the scope and the detail. Furniture and decoration are quoted separately.

What affects the fees

The cost of the project depends above all on the floor area, the scope (the whole home or just a few rooms), the level of detail (how many plans, renders and bespoke pieces) and on whether the design also includes site supervision and full furniture selection.

The big advantage of doing it with the people who build: if you ask us to handle the renovation too, the cost of the interior design project is built into the works and you avoid paying twice for coordination. We wrap it all up in a single, detailed quote.

Clearing up the terms

Decorator or interior designer: what you really need

They’re used as if they meant the same thing, but they don’t. Knowing what you’re after saves you money and headaches.

A decorator works with what’s already there: colour, textiles, furniture, accessories and atmosphere. They don’t touch the layout or the installations. Perfect when the home already works and you simply want to give it style and warmth.

An interior designer comes in earlier and goes deeper: they redesign the layout, decide where the lighting and plumbing points go, design bespoke storage and define the materials the build will have to construct. That’s what you need when you’re going to renovate, or when the home «just doesn’t quite work» no matter how much you decorate it.

Our work sits firmly in this second territory — with one added advantage: we also build. If all you want is to freshen up and repaint, we’ll point you towards our painting and interior styling service, which starts from a simpler, more affordable point.

A clear, orderly process, from the first briefing to handing over the finished home.

Briefing and visit

We listen to how you live, what you like and the budget you’re working with, and we measure up the home — with no obligation.

02

Proposal and 3D

We present the concept, the layout, the material palette and a 3D render so you can see the result before we start.

03

Materials and furniture

We finalise flooring, wall finishes, lighting and furniture, with real samples and a detailed quote.

04

Coordinated build

If we build it, we take the project to site with our own team and a single point of responsibility, staying faithful to the design.

05

Installation and styling

We put in the furniture, lighting and the finishing touches that bring the project to life and make it yours.

06

Handover

We hand over the finished home, coherent from start to finish and ready to enjoy.

07 The decision

A studio that only designs vs. the team that designs and builds

The difference isn’t in the renders — it’s in who answers for the result actually looking like them.

A studio that only designs

They hand you a PDF and walk away

  • The project is beautiful, but someone else has to build it.
  • If something doesn’t fit on site, nobody owns the gap.
  • You’re left to find a renovation company to build it.
  • The real budget can spiral once construction begins.
  • Design and build blame each other when problems arise.
Interior design with Batecs

We design and build it ourselves

  • Every design decision knows its cost and whether it’s viable.
  • A single person responsible for the project and the build.
  • The render starts from real, buildable materials.
  • Budget under control, with no surprises between stages.

Porches, terraces and chill-out areas in wood and natural materials, in continuity with the inside of the home.

More than looks

Materials and palettes that age well

Good interior design isn’t the kind that dazzles on day one, but the kind you still love five years later. That’s why we choose materials with maintenance and durability in mind too, not just the photo: porcelain tiles and microcements that hold up, well-treated natural woods and stones, textiles that withstand the real use of a family.

With the colour palette we work the atmosphere of each room and the coherence of the whole, always mindful of Valencia’s Mediterranean light, which is generous and warm. A neutral, timeless base, with accents you can change over time, is usually the smartest decision: invest in what’s permanent — flooring, joinery, layout — and leave whatever is easy to refresh to the accessories.

10 Before you start

Mistakes worth avoiding in interior design

  • Falling in love with a render without checking whether it’s buildable and what it really costs.
  • Decorating room by room with no guiding thread to give the whole coherence.
  • Leaving the lighting until last, when it’s what changes most how a space is lived in.
  • Following a very strong trend in the permanent elements (flooring, joinery) and tiring of it within a couple of years.
  • Separating design from build, and discovering too late that they didn’t fit together.
  • Forgetting about storage: a beautiful home with nowhere to put things never works.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about interior design

How much does an interior designer cost in Valencia?

As an indicative market reference, an interior design project usually falls somewhere around €30-70/m² depending on the scope and level of detail (plans, renders, bespoke pieces). We also offer one-off advice charged per session. If you ask us to handle the renovation as well, the cost of the design is built into the works. After the first meeting we give you a fixed quote based on what you need.

What’s the difference between a decorator and an interior designer?

A decorator works with what already exists — colour, furniture, textiles, accessories — without touching the layout or the installations. An interior designer comes in earlier and goes deeper: they redesign the layout, decide where the lighting and plumbing points go, design bespoke storage and define the materials the build will construct. If you’re going to renovate, what you need is an interior designer.

Do you produce a 3D render of the project before starting?

Yes. We present a 3D render of the project so you can see the layout, the materials and the atmosphere before making any final decisions. And because we build it ourselves, the render starts from real, buildable materials, so the result genuinely matches the image.

Do you only do the design, or do you carry out the building work too?

Both — and that’s our main advantage. We can hand you the interior design project and the plans for someone else to build, or design and build it ourselves with our own team. When we do both, there’s a single person responsible for the design and the build, and the cost of the project is built into the renovation.

What does an interior design project include?

Concept and style, layout and plans, material palette (flooring, wall finishes, woods, textiles), layered lighting design, furniture and bespoke pieces, and a 3D render. If we build it, it also includes site supervision and the final installation. We define the exact scope with you according to what you need.

What interior design styles do you work in?

Mediterranean, Scandinavian, minimalist, Japandi and warm contemporary, among others. We don’t impose a style: we look for the one that fits your home, the Valencian light and the way you live. In practice, almost every project blends two or three of them with care to achieve a personal, timeless result.

Can I have interior design done without renovating the whole home?

Yes. We can design just one room — the living room, the kitchen, a bedroom — or the whole home. We also offer one-off advice on colour, materials or layout if what you have is a specific question, without needing a full project.

Do you also handle the furniture and decoration?

Yes. We select the furniture, design the bespoke pieces and, if you wish, take care of the final styling — lighting, textiles and accessories — that brings the project to life. Furniture and decoration are quoted separately from the design and the build.

How long does an interior design project take?

The design phase (briefing, proposal, render and finalising materials) usually takes a few weeks depending on the scope. If we then carry out the building work, the timeline depends on the renovation. In the proposal we give you a realistic plan for each phase, without promising timescales we can’t keep.

Will you work with my architect or my own interior designer?

No problem. If you already have a design project, we coordinate with your architect or interior designer and handle the build with our own team. The advantage of doing it all with us is that the people who design and the people who build speak the same language; but you decide the scope.

Which areas do you carry out interior design projects in?

In the city of Valencia, La Eliana and every town in the Camp de Túria and l’Horta Nord: Paterna, Bétera, Godella, Llíria, Rocafort, Riba-roja, San Antonio de Benagéber, La Cañada and the surrounding area.

In short

Interior design in Valencia is the complete design of your interiors — concept, layout, style, materials, lighting and furniture — with a 3D render before you start. At Batecs we design it and, if you wish, we build it with the same team, so the result genuinely matches the design, with a single point of contact.

As an indicative market reference, an interior design project usually falls somewhere around €30-70/m² depending on scope and detail; if you ask us to handle the renovation too, the design is built into the works. We finalise the real cost after the first meeting, with no surprises.
